Paul Eterno was a career Human Resources Management executive in corporate America for over 36 years, working for major companies such as Blue Cross/Blue shield of Greater New York, Avon Products, Inc., Cushman & Wakefield, US Computer Group, Satellite Transmission Systems, Inc., and Globecomm.
He held various key HR executive positions up to and including Senior Vice President, Human Resources for, both, US Computer Group and Globecomm over the last 18 years of his career in Corporate America.
Paul earned the highest credentials afforded an executive level professional in the Human Resource Management field - the designation SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), which was granted by the Human Resource Certification Institute(HRCI), in cooperation with the Society of Human Resource Management(SHRM). He is also a member of the Worldwide Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals, and the Continental Who’s Who of Executives.
In addition to his professional credentials, Paul was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from New York Institute of Technology and an MBA in Executive Management from St. John’s University.
In January 2014, following Globecomm’s sale to a private equity firm Paul was laid off. It was at that point in his life that he paused, buoyed by encouragement from his wife, Ann Marie, and took time off to think and pray about what God’s plan was for him.
Back in 2006, Paul had invested in 2 investment properties on Long Island, one of which he still owns. But, it was in October 2014, that he decided to contact the US Tax Lien Association (USTLA), enrolled in a boot camp in Raleigh, N.C. and learned how to acquire tax foreclosed properties at county auctions throughout the United States, Paul invested in the USTLA’s top training program. Following the end of training in April 2015, Paul began investing in Tax Deed properties under the business name P.E.R.E. (Paul Eterno Real Estate) Investment Holdings, LLC. He purchased 11 properties and redeemable deeds in the ensuing 15 months. This was the springboard for his new career in Real Estate Investing.
During that same period, he was nominated to the USTLA’s Mastermind group. This afforded him direct access to and training from the Founders of the USTLA, as well as their Mentor. This opportunity proved to be invaluable, and eventually lead to Paul meeting his current business partner, Lisa Schmidt, who also was a member of the same Mastermind Group. In July 2016, Paul and Lisa attended a boot camp in Durham, NC that focused on acquiring multi-family apartment complexes in growth markets using a system developed by Dave Lindahl, who is widely recognized as the guru of multi-family apartment complex investing. It was at that boot camp in Durham, NC that Paul and Lisa decided to become business partners, and in December 2016 they formed Legacy Property Partners USA, LLC.
Paul (and Lisa) continue to be educated in commercial real estate investing, have underwritten several properties and have submitted multiple Letters of Intent(LOI) to purchase multi-family apartments.
Legacy Property Partners USA and its Venture Partner, Mission Bay Capital Partners, have closed on the following properties:
• Abbey Lake, Thomasville, GA: 152 Unit value-add opportunity closed on February 8, 2019
• Towne Oaks Townhomes, Tyler, TX: 90-unit, value-add opportunity closed on August 2, 2018. ($6.075M Acquisition)
• Towne Oaks East, Tyler, TX: 104-unit value-add opportunity closed January 26, 2018 ($4.5M Acquisition)
Paul also continues to be mentored by some of the best commercial real estate investing minds in the industry through Dave Lindahl’s educational Company, REMentor, and from other commercial real estate professionals he has come into contact with during his tenure in commercial real estate career.
When he is not focusing on real estate, Paul enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family - his loving wife of 20 years, Ann Marie, and his 3 beautiful children, P.J., 31, Olivia, 15, and Garrett 13. He and his wife enjoy watching and supporting their children’s participation in competitive sports (swimming, track & field, travel baseball, and basketball, football, and wrestling), and timeshare vacationing. Paul also enjoys giving back to the community through his membership as a Rotarian in Rotary International - Smithtown, NY chapter. He is also a Board member of a 501 (C) 3 not-for-profit organization called the Welcoming Home Our Heroes Foundation, which provides support and financial assistance to returning Long Island War Veterans, in cooperation with the VA Medical Center in Northport, LI, and is an Outreach Partner (book distributor) for Prelude Publishing, whose mission it is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with men across America, with the goal of bringing this nation back to “one Nation under God”.
Paul is currently active in multiple Business networking forums on Long Island:
• 3 year LeTip International, where he serves as Treasurer and Mentor for the Hauppauge Chapter
• 2-year Member of the Greater Smithtown Chamber of Commerce.
• 3-year Member of Smithtown, NY Chapter of Rotary International
He also has served as:
• Past Vice President of the Church Council at St. James Lutheran Evangelical Church in St. James, NY,
• Past President of the Long Island Wage & Salary Council, a networking group of Senior HR professionals in the high tech industry.
• Past member of the Human Resources Committee of the American Management Association (AMA).
Lastly, at the core of Paul’s life is his Christian faith and belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. This has empowered him to successfully pursue his new real estate investor profession with the ultimate goal being to do God’s work by generously and joyfully giving to those in need, and to provide his family a much higher quality lifestyle than they have ever known, leave them a legacy that will enrich and support them for the rest of their lives, and leave this Earth a much better place than when he arrived.
